RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Equine Surgery Orthopaedics
Simon qualified from Cambridge University in 1999 and worked in a mixed practice in Northamptonshire where he was involved in setting up an equine unit before moving to Devon and joining Western Counties in March 2003. Simon became a partner in 2004 following the retirement of Brian Crawford. He divides his time between ambulatory work mainly in North Devon and Exmoor and work in the Hospital. He holds the RCVS Certificate in Equine Orthopaedic Surgery and is an FEI Treating Vet having a keen interest in event cover both racing and British Eventing.
His particular areas of interest include lameness diagnosis, imaging, orthopaedic surgery and AI. Simon leads the MRI referral service and is part of the MRI technician team.
Outside of work Simon enjoys sailing and surfing as well as supporting his children who have a variety of sporting interests including BE, NSEA and Pony Club.
