Eefje graduated from Ghent University in Belgium in 2005. She started out her career working in a small animal and equine vets in Calne, Wiltshire. After finishing a one year long Equine Internship at the vet clinic in Emmeloord in the Netherlands she spent a number of years working in a small animal and equine practice near Rotterdam. In 2013 she decided to return to the UK and worked as an Equine vet in east Yorkshire. In 2017 she decided to move to Devon and joined the team at Western Counties.
Eefje was awarded the post graduate RCVS certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Equine Medicine) in 2018. Eefje is an OV for the export of horses. She works both as an ambulatory vet and in the hospital and is also clinical coach for one of our student nurses. She has particular interests in equine medicine and anaesthesia.
Outside of work Eefje enjoys surfing, tennis, outdoor bootcamp and has discovered that walking the coastal path is great fun and there are plenty of walks to discover. She enjoys baking and often brings her creations to work for her colleagues to try.
