Here at Western Counties we have two surgeons who are both European Specialist’s in Equine Surgery plus a part-time Equine Medicine specialist, along with an Advanced Practitioner in Equine Internal Medicine
We have an Advanced Practitioner in Equine Surgery Orthopaedics and a Resident in Equine Dentistry.
We offer referral services for:
- Emergency surgeries (including colics/wound surgery/joint sepsis)
- Lameness and poor performance investigations (Equigait Objective Gait Analysis)
- Orthopaedic surgery
- Hallmarq standing equine MRI
- Overground endoscopy
- ‘Wind’ surgery
- Cardiology
- Dentistry and Craniofacial Surgery
- Gastroscopy
- Arthroscopy
- Laser surgery
- Headshaking investigations
- Internal medicine
- Foaling and Caesarean section
Please contact us here at the Hospital for immediate referrals. The Hospital team will be delighted to discuss individual case with you directly.
We only accept referrals on an ethical basis after prior contact with referring veterinary surgeons and a full veterinary report is subsequently sent
As part of our commitment to ethical referrals we will not provide first opinion veterinary services to any referred client for at least 12 months following referral. The Western Counties team run regular CPD events throughout the year – please contact reception to add your details to our mailing list.
